About the only thing that has sucked about my diet has been the fact that I don’t really have any smaller clothes. When I started putting on the extra weight, I gave my father-in-law most of my old clothes that I couldn’t fit into anymore. Since I have no frickin money, I can’t go out and replenish my wardrobe.
Luckily, I had been stuffing my fat ass into stuff that was a little too small for a while, so now my clothes aren’t totally falling off yet, but I did have to punch two extra holes in my “good” (and that is definitely a relative term) belt. The weave belt that I’m wearing today with my jeans (which I couldn’t even fit in to two months ago) is cinched in to a point that would have previously been unimaginable. The end of it is in the belt loop on the back of my left hip, two loops past is previous home.
If things were better with my finances, I’d be out enjoying my first entry into store that doesn’t have “Big and Tall” in the name for the first time in years. I’ll have to try to ride out a few more months until Laurie starts her new full-time Teacher job in August (yay, money!).
Up until about two years ago, I had a well paying job as a Sales Manager for AT&T. They closed my office and I took another job with the company as a sales rep, hawking telecom services to businesses. I decided to change companies after 8 years because I thought I could make more money (I was hoodwinked, bamboozled by the Man!) with a new company. Less than a year later; layoff city, baby. So here I am, working for the Federal government making over $50K less than I did two years ago. Poverty sucks, dude, but I’ll never have to worry about being laid off again. I actually enjoy my job and it’s both challenging and satisfying. The money gets better in a few years with the Feds, as well.
