My Trip to San Antonio
By Chris

We planned on heading out by 5am on Tuesday morning, but as usual on a day off, we rolled out of bed late.  We didn't hit the road until about 5:30, later than we anticipated, but early enough to miss the crappy DFW traffic.

The kids were good on the way down, but then again, they slept for the first couple of hours.

Highlight of the trip down: Czech Stop.  A little bakery outside of Waco with killer sausage kolaches.

While driving down, I realize that I don't have directions to Sea World.  How stupid can you get?  I have directions to the hotel, which is forty miles away, but nothing for my first destination.  Luck is on my side and there are signs that point me in the right direction.

The first indication that there were going to be a few "issues" during the trip was the quarter mile car jam on the off ramp of highway 151.  That snarl was the prelude to the OTHER quarter mile, bumper to bumper mess from the highway into the park entrance, which in itself was an appetizer for the OTHER quarter mile clusterfuck from the entrace into the lot itself.

Anger turned to misery as we waited 45 minutes in line to buy our tickets.

Tip #1: Buy your tickets online and print them at home.  I had coupons that saved $5 a ticket which is why I didn't, but when you buy online, you save 10%, which was about $4 a ticket...I burned 45 minutes of time to save a measly $4 total.

We headed straight to the first show, called "Believe" (I believe that's that name).  It was pretty cool, with divers and acrobats and endangered aquatic mammals leaping through the air.

More to come later...time to go home.

You know, this "I'm too busy" to write to you people is really getting old... We're starting to feel like you give everything at the office or to your family and we get whatever is left.    :)

Amusement parks always seem to tke forever to get into and cost a fortune.  But the kids do get a kick out of them, so I guess it's worth it for that.
