Diary of a Fat Man

Die, Die My Darling

7/29/2006 1:03:09 PM
My home PC finally died.  I built it over five years ago and since that time, I've only added some RAM.  Up until last week, it was working fine (if a little slow compared to the workhorses I'm on in the office).  But the motherboard finally blew itself out like a candle on a sad little birthday cake.

I'd like to just hit Fry's Electronics and pickup a new motherboard (and some RAM and a bigger hard drive) and just fix the beast, but I'm going to instead wait a month or two and buy a new PC.

For now, we'll just use Evan's laptop (which, sadly, is a much better machine than the one that recently kicked the bucket).

And yes, the headache is still here.  I'm starting to think it may be something with my neck causing it, because I crashed out on the couch last night and woke up at 3am with a really stiff neck and Satan skull-fucking me into oblivion.

So far I've tried Advil, Tylenol, Excedrin, Bayer, Skelaxin, and nothing; and none of those have worked.  Tonight, I'm going to try a Shiner Tonic (take one 12 pack of Shiner, drink, smile--) and see if that works.

And big ups to my "friends" Heather and Maris for their support and understanding.

Bitches.

:)

Have a good weekend fuckers.

my coworker (the one with the kid - grrr. see post about..) gets them for days and weeks on end. he used to be similarly afflicted in high school (hormones seem like a really consistent theme here), and then I think decades and decades of drinking alleviated them. except for morning hangovers, of course...

he quit drinking and now he really struggles with them again. like you, he pops every over-the-counter pill imaginable; I wonder what all that shite in one's system does to one's system, while not alleviating or dulling the pain at all.

so the upshot of this is that drinking, sadly, will probably help, in the absence of any other solution...

not sure which of us that was directed at...........

LMAO!!!!!  I'm glad Maris joined in or I would've been the only one to look like an insensitive, unkind beeyotch.  Thank you, Maris.  Now I can feel comfortable while I continue to make fun.

Anyway, talking about what kind of doctor am I and the Oath bullshit, I know a doctor that hired a guy without doing a background check to work at one of his offices.  It turned out the guy was an impersonator and was just pretending to be an optometrist.  On his first day he took the first patient back to the exam room and just sat in the dark for 15 minutes then brought the patient back out.  Of course patients complained and the dude became belligerent and had to be escorted out of the store (this was at, what else, a Wal-Mart).  Before he left he stole my friends eye reference book and then drove to Florida in a stolen car.  True story.

I do hope you are doing better soon.  There are you happy?  Now I sound like everyone else.

Chris, just to prove that I am sensitive and caring, I have a new theory.  Maybe on some sort of subliminal level you actually DON'T want to have sex with your wife or yourself, hence the perpetual "Not tonight, Honey... I have a headache" scenario.

Maybe?  :)

I hope you feel better soon.

Hey man...
If you need a motherboard, Frys will rip you off.  Go to Newegg.com; you'll get excellent service and MUCH LOWER prices.
Or i guess a new one wouldn't be bad...they're so damn cheap anymore - it's hard to build them that cheap.  Just my 2c as a hardware guy.

Take care,
Keith [maj buzz]

Maybe you should go a different route and load up on sudafed - could be sinus related (yeah, that's it, sinus).  Either that or you've finally managed to get a tumor.  They aren't catchy are they?
