I did much better with my food intake yesterday, ending the day at zero points (which is good) after going for a run for 20 minutes. I made some kick ass meatball thingees that were supposed to be meatball pitas, but turned in to meatball gyros since Laurie bought flatbread by mistake. Nine puntos for the whole meal, which included a decent portion of sweet potato French fries. I LOVE those things.
When I came home, I decided to attempt to run with the family again. I thought that it would be easier since we’d be out in the new part of the neighborhood and the kids could ride their bikes in the streets. I thought that they would be able to keep up with me (or, gasp, even stay ahead of me).
My optimism was futile, as it was a repeat of the last effort to try to run with the kiddos. Chloe crashed her bike because she was riding too close to the curb. Evan kept stopping because he thought the ramps at the end of the streets made good pit stops. They both kept stopping so that Laurie could catch up with them.
I think from now on, I’ll go out with them for RECREATIONAL walking and do my cardio walk/runs solo again. I really enjoy going out with them, but I won’t be able to get the intensity I need if I keep my pace down to the level needed to stay in talking distance with them.
I’m looking forward to Friday so that I can end this miserable week with food and start anew.
I heard the best line ever broadcast on TV last night when (re)watching Family Guy. Peter thinks a disco ball is a piñata and smacks it; takes a bite and says “Ow. Crafty Mexicans and their glass candy.” That’s entertainment, folks.
