Diary of a Fat Man

Friday Schmiday

Usually, I’m pretty stoked about Fridays (especially when it’s a payday too!), but today sucks because I’m working overtime tomorrow morning and my paycheck is already gone.  I can’t believe you have to pay a mortgage EVERY MONTH.  What kind of crock is that? :) This morning it was tough not chowing down on the leftover pizza, but I ate a bowl of Frosted Mini-Wheats and a South Beach Bar instead.

Tonight, Laurie is having “girl’s night” with some of her friends, so they’ll be cluttering up my kitchen with their games and margaritas and tasty snacks.  I’m not indulging, however.  The good thing about tonight, is that one of the ladies coming is the mother of one of Evan’s friends and another one is the mother of one of Chloe’s friends.  That means both my kids will be entertained and busy all night and I can just chill in my room and watch porn Battlestar Galactica, or one of my few remaining DVDs, or possibly read.  I think I’m going to hit the library tonight on the way home so that I can rebuild my book queue, because Atlas Shrugged sucks the way Anna Nicole did that old man she was married to.

Blah, my break’s over now.  Back to serving the constituents of this fine nation.

I've enjoyed keeping up with your blog lately. I've changed over to an existing account on blogger, because I don't want the nimrods at work (we use msn messenger) to poke around in it. Anyway, the link is: http://121169.blogspot.com/ I'll keep an eye on your site, and if you don't mind I may put a link to it. Maybe we can get a "fat guy losing" group of blogs goin'.

Ah, the good old days. I used to work for the State of Michigan back before firewalls. I just downloaded songs on Napster, looked at porn and played Yahoo online games all day. What a cushy job that was! I worked for the legislature so staying past 4:00 or working a full day when there was no session was unheard of. Not anymore, now I work my little fingers to the bone. I kick myself for giving up that job but if I hadn't, I probably would never have met Mitch so it was worth it.
