Joining the Unwashed Masses

I took the train downtown today to avoid getting stuck in traffic and the likelihood that I would snap and methodically slaughter the drivers of the cars in front of me: smashing my way through their windows with a tire tool, choking them with the charger cables from the cell phones glued to their ears, and then syphoning their gasoline into my car as the other drivers look on in fear.  I'm sure that the jury would acquit me, but why go through the hassle?

When I was talking to people that work in this office yesterday, they acted like the closest station was MILES from the office, but I saw the station yesterday when leaving the office (and yes, it WAS because I was lost!).  It's only 3 blocks from here (about 1/2 mile at most).  Reminder to self: tomorrow bring tennis shoes...these 5lb monstrosities on my feet right now are not the best choice for walking.

I'm anxious to see what my weight is on Thursday, since I still haven't returned to walking/running/exercising.  My neck is finally getting a little better, but is still about 60% of what it should be.  Now that the weather is a little cooler (upper 90's vs. 1,000,000 centigrade), I may do some running later this week.  I'm still trying to locate the gym here, which would be cool to use if I can work it into the schedule.

I can't believe how fucked up New Orleans and surrounding areas is right now.  The girl that came with me from my office for this temporary duty has relatives that live there.  They are OK and were able to get to safety before it got bad, but they found out their house was destroyed because they saw it on TV.  How fucked up would that be?  You're watching CNN and see your house fall to pieces on the screen.  They were pretty certain that they'd lose everything, but it seems especially cruel to be a witness to it when you're 300 miles away.  I've been looking at the photos of the destruction and I'm in awe of how destructive the storm was.  It's unbelievable.

I didn't know that about Tivo. I hate to be snobby but I found Tivo very intuitive and easy to use. Anyhoop, do you know of a way I can put a power point on my space? Cheers, stinky.

Road-rage should be considered a public service...you're keeping all those bad-driving assholes off the road!
